The Cardima Surgical Ablation System incorporates unique technology based on years of research, development, and clinical applications.
The coiled electrodes, unable to be replicated by any other technology company, are the core of the transmural lesion depth achieved by the Cardima system. They deliver RF energy efficiently, producing excellent results with each application.
The thermocouples incorporated into the probe provide direct temperature feedback into the Energy Management Device which monitors the output of energy.
The patented suction sheath provides tissue contact and added patient safety by protecting the collateral tissue. The irrigation, instilled through channels on each electrode, increase lesion depth.
The illuminated tip provides for added visualization in closed or open chest cases.
The Cardima Energy Management Device (EMD) completes the system. The EMD modulates the energy to each individual electrode based on temperature to create optimal lesion formation.
Cardima's Surgical Ablation System is cleared by the FDA for ablation of cardiac tissue using radiofrequency (RF) energy during cardiac surgery. The system has CE Mark approval in the European Union (EU) and is also registered in Thailand.
